Emergence

from $1,000.00

‘Emergence’ is an art piece that combines flowers photographed by me in Asia, Europe, and the US. The piece is highlighted by an intense textured background that highlights a singular flower. The basis of the background consists of 64 individual flowers combined with leafy segments of plants. Each flower-leaf combination is randomly sized, rotated, and placed on a red area. The flowered background in Emergence contains about 1500 individual flower-leaf combinations. The central flower is a beautiful Lotus flower photographed in Thailand. I have many similarly beautiful flowers that can be substituted.

I took all the photographs using an iPhone 15 Pro Max. Using Affinity Photo for editing, I resized each flower or leaf photograph to promote effective image segmentation, segmented each photograph to isolate the portrayed flower or leaf, exported the resulting photograph on a transparent background, and then combined each of the roughly 64 photographs to form the basis of the background. I follow a similar procedure for the specimen flower.

I have chosen to print the art using a substrate of Dibond, which is an aluminum composite material. The process overlays the Dibond with a silver halide print that supports 610 dpi resolution. A satin laminate covers the print for protection, and the entire assembly is placed in a slim white float frame. I have chosen a mid-gloss finish to accentuate the visual impact.
